- 1 package Smoked Sausage
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup chopped small onion
- 2 cups vegetable or chicken stock
- 2 cups cavatappi #87 pasta
- 3/4 cup cream cheese, cubed
- 1/2 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp white cheddar
- Salt, pepper, chili crisp to taste
- Cut sausage into ½” diagonal slices. Heat the oil in a large 10in skillet and pan-fry sausage slices until browned, 5-6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Add the onions and stir until the onions soften, 2 minutes.
- Stir in the stock and cream cheese, continue stirring until cream cheese dissolves. Bring to a boil.
- Add the pasta. Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir pasta, add cooked sausage back in, broccoli, heavy cream and cheddar cheese and cook for another 6-7 minutes until the pasta and broccoli are tender.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with extra cheese and chili crisp, if desired.
